Ross & Wye Valley Weekender... Why not! What could be better than a wonderful weekender in the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Beauty which is an internationally important protected landscape straddling the border between England and Wales. It is one of the most dramatic and scenic landscapes in Britain and especially stunning at this time of the year as the leaves turn orange and red waiting to be captured in the beautiful autumnal light.
Ross-on-Wye may be known for its literary connections but it is also a beautiful town perched dramatically above the River Wye, on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean, this is just one of many picturesque towns you will see. As for scenery – there is so much to take in, such as Symonds Yat Rock at this internationally renowned viewpoint nearby cliffs are the nesting place of Peregrine Falcons that soar above the valley of the River Wye 120m below. It is also the site of an Iron Age hill fort and the film location used for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
