Industrial Swansea & Glorious Gower
Enjoy the rough with the smooth! From the brutal industrial landscape of Port Talbot to the stunning coastline beauty of Three Cliffs Bay. The Gower peninsula is an area of extreme contrasts, perfect for the photographer!Join us for this amazing weekender where you will be able to track the industrialisation of this area from its birth in Aberdulais. This site shows the 400 years of industrial heritage of this area and also has one of the most beautiful waterfalls in South Wales! Here you will see evidence of copper smelting, iron and tin working, alongside grain and textile milling and you can tread in the steps of great artists who have painted this site, such as Turner, Ruskin and Bonner. From here, we travel forward in time to shoot the present-day captivating, modern industrial landscape of the Port Talbot Steel works.
In stark contrast, just a few miles away, we will indulge in the stunning beauty of the coastline of the Gower peninsula starting at the aptly named Three Cliffs Bay and Pennard Pill, a large stream which flows into the bay.
Itinerary includes:
Aberdulais tin works and waterfalls, Cefn Coed Colliery, Port Talbot, Neath Abbey, spectacular views around the Three Cliffs Bay, the Mumbles and cozy pub photo feedback sessions.

For this weekender, we recommend staying at the The Castle Hotel, The Parade, Neath, SA11 1RB (www.castlehotelneath.co.uk) Please make your own arrangements directly with the hotel, an early booking is recommended. If you do have problems getting a room, give us a call.

There will be plenty of walking involved over this weekend on uneven terrain so bring walking shoes/boots and ensure you are at a suitable fitness level. Please contact us if you have any questions.
