Photography in Botswana

The Limpopo region of Botswana abounds with natural marvels. Experience the wildlife and cultural delights of Southern Africa.

Introduction

Following countless requests for a Frui safari holiday, we’re proud to announce our new Botswana adventure! With a focus on allowing you to get creative and unusual shots, we’re visiting lesser known parts of Botswana and South Africa. Packed with wildlife, vistas, African sunsets and campfires, as well as visits to cities and villages, this is safari, Frui style.

What Makes This Trip Special?

Although we’ll spend plenty of time photographing animals, this won’t be a standard safari trip. Thanks to our close contacts, we will have the privilege of special access to off the beaten track wildlife reserves. We’ll track animals through the Botswanan bush on foot, watch from hides and snap from vehicles. And of course, in true Frui fashion, you’ll finish your days with sundowner drinks, sharing your experiences and the pick of the day’s photographs.

Why Photograph Here?

Botswana is a spectacle just waiting to be photographed. Grasslands and savannas, all abounding with wildlife, make for challenging and rewarding photographic subjects. No matter your ability, whip off your lens cap and let your photographer’s eye be drawn to some of the most fantastic displays of natural wonderment in the world.
It’s not just about wildlife photography though. There will be street, landscape and documentary photography opportunities as we guide you through Soweto in South Africa, join an anti-rhino poaching team and wander through some authentically African vistas.

Limpopo-Lipadi is a private game and wilderness reserve on the northern bank of the Limpopo River in Tuli Block, south-eastern Botswana. Our shareholders aim to make a difference, create a legacy, and have fun.

At 20,700 hectares, or 207 square kilometers, the reserve is large enough to sustain a natural predator–prey balance. Thanks largely to various types of habitat it has incredible biodiversity.

Madia Thava lodge

Madi a Thavha, meaning “water from the mountains”, is set in a beautiful and quiet valley of the Soutpansberg Mountains. Indigenous bush characterises the landscape. Many velvet monkeys and baboons live around the lodge.

The lodge carries many signs of the involvement of the owners in local culture: all rooms are tastefully decorated with arts and crafts, produced in a cooperation between the local people and the lodge.

The buildings of the lodge feature mountain views and are layered in the vibrant colours and earthy textures of rural Limpopo.
