Situated to the east of Rome, Abruzzo’s mountainous plateaux give way to majestic valleys, which sweep down to the Adriatic Sea.

Perhaps the most unspoilt of Italian regions, over two thirds of Abruzzo is designated national park. Here wild bears and wolves roam, while rugged pastory mountain dogs guard the grazing livestock.

Known locally as ‘the garden of Italy’, some of the country’s most celebrated produce is grown here. Famed for its truffles, pasta, olives, wine and pecorino cheese, Abruzzo is a foodie's dream!

Spring in Abruzzo sees the mountain snow melting, the wildflowers erupting into blossom and the undulating valleys turning a lush shade of green.Summer brings in a cool, refreshing breeze from the Adriatic coast while the sun bathes the vineyards in a warm golden light.

Rusty browns sweep through Abruzzo in autumn and as the summer heat fades, snow gradually returns to the mountaintops.
