Please not that the following itinerary is based on flight times that may vary:

Day 1

Arrive at Kerry, meet your tutor and head out to the Dingle Peninsular

After a short one-hour flight you’ll arrive at tiny little Kerry airport where you’ll be greeted by your tutor. From here we’ll head off to the Dingle Peninsular for a spot of lunch and an introduction to some fundamental approaches to landscape photography. This will introduce us to some key compositional techniques designed to instantly make your landscapes more striking. As well as this you’ll be shown some handy technical tips, which again will transform your images - no more burnt out skies and flat, dull photos!

Dingle is a stunning strip of land that stretches 30 miles into the Atlantic Ocean. Dominated by a range of mountains down its spine, here we’ll stop to photograph an imposing crumbling castle, the awe inspiring Inch Beach and the magnificent views seen from the Connor Pass.

Check into guesthouse, dinner and a look at the day’s images

From there we'll leave Dingle and head to our Victorian guesthouse nestled in the woods just outside the beautiful town of Killarney. After freshening up we’ll have a drink in the ‘honesty bar’ and take a look at some of the day’s images. Afterwards we’ll head into town for dinner and, depending on what’s happening, perhaps even try our hand (or feet) at the Irish jig!

Day 2

Photoshop class and the Ring of Kerry

After a hearty Irish cooked breakfast we’ll have a lesson in Photoshop (for those who want it). Here we’ll be introduced to some basic editing techniques, specifically used for landscapes, which will transform your images.

Inspired we head out for the day to capture some of southwest Ireland’s most sublime landscapes. First it’s a visit to ‘Ladies View’, one of the most spectacular views along the awe-inspiring Ring of Kerry route. We then continue on to Moll’s Gap, an imposing valley with steep rocks on either side.

Lunch, The Gap of Dunloe, (a cheeky pint!) and Kerry at sunset

From Moll's Gap it's on to lunch at a nearby pub famous for its menu of local seafood, fresh fish and the Guinness is on tap! We then continue on, following the Ring of Kerry, one of the most spectacular drives in the British Isles, stopping along the way to take photographs at choice points along the sublime Gap of Dunloe. As we emerge from the Gap of Dunloe, you wouldn't believe it - someone's only gone and put a cosy little pub with a log fire right there! It would be rude not to pop in for a tipple...

At sunset we’ll set ourselves up at one of the most stunning views and wait for the light to be just right. Here we’ll also enjoy some hillside aperitifs as the sun goes down…

Dinner, a look at the day’s images and some traditional music and dance

After freshening up back at the guesthouse, dinner tonight will be in Killarney. Over dinner we’ll have a look at some of the best shots of the day and then it’s on to a local pub for some traditional music and dance with the local crowd.

Day 3

Ross Castle and the lakes of Killarney

After another hearty breakfast we’ll check out of our guesthouse and head to the stunning Ross Castel which overlooks the lakes of Killarney. Here we can capture some wonderful early(ish) morning shots of the castel, lakes and surrounding landscape.

Muckross House and Gardens and on to the airport

From there we’ll continue on to Muckross House and its beautiful gardens in the shadow of the Ring of Kerry. Here we’ll have a chance to explore the gardens.
